    Abuna Aziz Hanna Hadodo was born in Midyat, Turkey on February 14th, 1950.  He studied at Deyrul Zafaran Monastery under the guidance of Hasio Dolabani and also taught there.  He moved to Istanbul where he furthered his education and later moved to America in 1973. 

    Abuna Aziz served the church his entire life and humbly entered the holy sacrament of Priesthood in August of 1994.  Sayidna Yeshue Samuel (Aloho mhasele) ordained Abuna Aziz as a priest in St, Marks's Church in Teaneck, NJ.  Mor Gabriel church opened the following month on Sunday, September 11, 1994 where Abuna Aziz conducted mass. 

    Abuna Aziz has been humbly serving the Christian community for years and is always available to lend a hand or help anyone in need.  He is fluent in English, Aramaic, Turkish, Arabic and Kurdish.  He also knows some Spanish and Armenian.  Abuna Aziz is probably best known for his geniality and his voice.  Also having a background in singing, it's no wonder that his powerful yet gentle voice makes women reach into their purses for tissues during Sunday mass.
